What did you do before Bursch? I started Pegasus Travel in 1989 and have been serving Omaha travelers for over 60 years.
What do you to when you’re not traveling? I love cooking, reading, and going to the theater.
What’s your favorite destination? London – I just feel at home there. Join me on our yearly theater tour! This will be our 21st trip to London in conjunction with the Omaha Community Playhouse.
What’s on your travel bucket list: The Great Wall of China and the Taj Mahal.
Travel related specialties: I’ve been recognized by Travel & Leisure and Spa magazine in the unique area of a Spa/Health/Wellness Destination Resort Specialist. I have personally stayed at dozens of spas throughout Europe and the U.S. from destination spas to classic resort facilities. I also enjoy Honeymoon and Romance Travel and Group Travel.

David is a performer, and consumer of the arts as well as a member of the LGTBQIA+ community. An interesting background in travel has inspired him to share his love and knowledge of adventure. He has traveled across the U.S. and internationally to London, Scotland, Germany, Mexico, Honduras, the Caribbean, Costa Rica, and Canada. David continues to expand his knowledge of the industry through firsthand experience. As an avid adventurer and member of the theatre community, David’s goal is to encourage clients to experience ‘The Arts’ worldwide!

Years at Bursch Travel: I worked at Pegasus Travel from 1992-2000 but then moved into the corporate travel world. After 28 years of travel industry experience, I’m excited to be back and with the new name Bursch Travel!
What are your hobbies outside of travel? Spending time with my family.
Of all of the places you have been what is your favorite destination and why? Cabo San Lucas. It was my first trip to Mexico, and I have been back 3 times since. It is a great place for adults and families. I love being on a beach and relaxing when traveling.
What is your dream destination you have NOT been to yet? Tahiti and Africa.

Never travel without… my ipad. It fits in my purse, and I can remote into the office if needed. Proved very useful when Atlanta was hit hard by a windstorm. It was a mess. With my mini iPad in hand, I was able to get my sister & I protected on flights the following day.
Top Travel Memory- I have so many, but the best ones are of my time on safari.
On My Bucket List- Machu Picchu, a safari to Victoria Falls & the Okavango Delta, Iceland & any place I can see Northern Lights.
What’s Your Best Foodie Find- Le Soufflé in Paris. I have been to Paris twice, 3 nights each time. I’ve eaten here 3 times. The chocolate soufflé is a must! I recommend it to everyone going to Paris.
Specialization- Ireland- I have been 5 times, I’ve traveled through 26 of it’s 29 counties which includes Northern Ireland. My other love – African safaris. I have been on 3 safaris so far, Kenya, Tanzania & South Africa.
Top Travel Tip- I always tell couples when traveling together to pack some of their clothes in their traveling companion’s suitcases. Should 1 bag get lost/delayed, chances are good you at least have a change of clothes. Scan your passport page with your photo to yourself, or at least keep it in your draft folder. Should your passport get lost or stolen, you have a copy – I speak from personal experience.

What’s your favorite destination and why? Anywhere in Europe. I love the history, culture, food, and scenery.
What you might know about me: When I turned 40 I decided to make my love for travel my career. I specialize in customized European itineraries, honeymoons, and family travel to Mexico. I also specialize in Hawaii and French Polynesia. Moorea and Bora Bora with their unspoiled beauty are definitely my favorite places to visit. I can’t get enough of planning the “trip of a lifetime” for my clients, the one they have always dreamed of taking.
