Trip Details:
- Wednesday, Sept 3rd 2025
- We land in Zagreb, Croatia in the morning. We check into the Sheraton Hotel in the city center. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight Zagreb.
- Thursday, Sept 4th
- After breakfast from the buffet we’ll be give a fascinating tour that focuses on Croatia’s history and the Balkan war. The remainder of the day will be free to enjoy sightseeing and shopping in Zagreb. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight Zagreb.
- Friday, Sept 5th
- After breakfast from the buffet, we travel to Rastoke, a village famed for its many waterfalls and attractive architecture. After a bite to eat, we’ll visit Plitvice Lakes National Park where we have an option to either walk a short distance to view waterfalls or take a longer hike to immerse ourselves in nature. In the evening we check into Hotel Miramare in Zadar. Overnight Zadar.
- Saturday, Sept 6th
- After breakfast from the buffet we take a tour of the attractive town of Zadar, famed for its Roman ruins and its unusual wave organ. Free time to explore Zadar’s food market and old town. Early evening we enjoy wine tasting and dinner on a hill overlooking the sea. Overnight Zadar.
- Sunday, Sept 7th
- After breakfast from the buffet, we transfer to the Baroque resort town of Opatija. Early afternoon we check into Hotel Royal and enjoy free time strolling along the town’s sea promenade. Dinner in Opatija. Overnight Opatija.
- Monday, Sept 8th
- After breakfast from the buffet, we take an excursion to Buzet where we participate in a truffle hunt accompanied by an expert and trained dogs. We’ll then be treated to lunch on the property featuring truffle dishes. Mid-afternoon we return to the delightful town of Opatija for free time. Dinner in town. Overnight Opatija.
- Tuesday, Sept 9th
- After breakfast from the buffet, we take an excursion to the attractive town of Pula where we visit its stunning and well-preserved Roman arena. Here we’ll also have time to stroll through the historic town center with its Roman temple and its cathedral. After free time for lunch and shopping we continue on to Rovinj where we embark on a short boat ride, affording us great views of the picture-perfect historic town. Dinner in Opatija. Overnight Opatija.
- Wednesday, Sept 10th
- After breakfast from the buffet, we travel to Lipica (pronounced Leepeetsa) for a tour of the elite and historic stud farm with a demonstration of the famed Lippizzaner horse training. After free time for lunch we continue on to tour the impressive Postojna Caves. In the evening we check into Eurostars Hotel Union in the heart of Ljublana’s city center. Dinner and overnight Ljublana.
- Thursday, Sept 11th
- After breakfast from the buffet, we take a guided tour of the elegant historic town of Ljublana. The remainder of the day is free to explore its sights, museums and for shopping. Dinner and overnight Ljublana.
- Friday, Sept 12th
- After breakfast from the buffet, we take an excursion to Slovenija’s famous Lake Bled where we take a short boat trip. After free time for lunch in Bled, we return to Ljubljana mid-afternoon. Dinner and overnight Ljubljana.
- Saturday, Sept 13th
- After breakfast from the buffet, we transfer to Ljubljana Airport for our flights home.
